Jamie Milay Kasiama (they/them) is a multidisciplinary performance artist based in Hamilton, and a recent graduate of the Theatre & Film studies program and the Multimedia program at McMaster University. Their practice incorporates live performance, poetry, visual art, found art sculpture, photography, video art, sound art, and theatre/storytelling. Jamie’s work is rooted in social justice, anti-oppression, accessibility, and intersectionality. Their personal philosophy is to produce work that aims to destabilize hierarchies of power and embraces fluidity of content, artistic form, and artistic process. Jamie is currently the performer in residence at Hamilton Artist Inc; developing a performance about perceptions of Sex Work in Hamilton. Jamie has participated in several AMY programs: Theatre Program (2016, 2017), Film Program (2017), Design Mentorship Program (2017, 2019).
